Symposium: Climate Change and Human Rights

Climate Change and Human Rights: The KlimaSeniorinnen Case and the Role of the ECHR

In the KlimaSeniorinnen v. Switzerland case, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that, based on human rights, states are obliged to take measurements preventing climate change. In this case, a Swiss association, whose members were concerned about the consequences of global warming on their living conditions and health, considered that the Swiss authorities are not taking sufficient action to mitigate the effects of climate change.

If this topic sparkles your interest, a closer look at this case will be given at the symposium! Taking place on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 19:30 to 21:30, this event is designed to provide a deeper understanding of this topic and allowing for discussion.
