On the 6th of November, the MUN Committee is organizing our first Debate Night! The debate will be about the following issue:
To what extent can private companies breach fundamental rights like freedom of speech to regulate their platforms?
This event will start off with an introduction of the theme by an external speaker, Olaf Trojan: Trojan is a litigator at Bird & Bird, specialised in civil litigation, with a particular focus on Media, Internet and IT. As a co-head of the Dutch Media Group, he has developed a particular expertise in media related matters. Furthermore, Trojan is a member of the editorial board of Mediaforum, the legal review for the media industry. Overall, he is the perfect speaker to start off our Debate Night!
The debate will be of an easy entry level, so we welcome both beginners and more experienced debaters. Our well-practised moderators will make sure the debate runs smoothly. The night will take place via Zoom Call from 19:00-21:00. Participation is free and open to everyone. It’s going to be an interesting and challenging debate, so make sure to be there!
