COVID-19 MEASURES

Dear members and others,

In addition to our communication made yesterday (see below) concerning the recent developments of the COVID-19 virus and the press release of the Dutch government, we, the Board of Urios, have decided to take additional measures. Having heard concerns raised by our members and other partners, we have decided to cancel all events scheduled to take place before the 31st of March. Anyone who has signed up for one of these events will be or will have been contacted regarding their participation and has been refunded where appropriate. If and when this period is extended, this will be communicated to our members in a timely fashion.

We strongly advise all our members to follow the guidelines set out by the Dutch government and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). These guidelines aim to minimise contact between people to slow down the spread of the virus. The guidelines are as follows:

  • Stay at home when you have a cough, fever, running nose or suffer from a sore throat. Call your G.P. (Huisarts) when symptoms get worse, but only then;
  • Avoid crowded spaces;
  • Work from home where possible;
  • Regularly wash your hands using soap or other desinfectants;
  • Minimise contact with people who fall under a high-risk category.

If you have any questions please contact us at board@urios.org.

With kind regards,

On behalf of the 39th Board of Urios,

Koen Brackel

h.t. Secretary Urios

❗IMPORTANT UPDATE❗

The Dutch government has just announced new measures that are to be upheld in the Netherlands as a consequence of the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. People with minor health problems are to remain at home and avoid social gatherings. Furthermore, events with a hundred or more attendants are to be cancelled. Urios will strictly follow these guidelines and is, therefore, forced to cancel some of its events planned for the coming weeks. Smaller events will stil be able to go ahead as planned and any event that is to be cancelled will be postponed to a time later this (academic) year. We strive to keep you updated on this matter.
