As the Chair, my main task is to make sure everything is being steered in the right direction within Urios. Also, I fulfill the position of contactperson: both for our members, the Utrecht University, as for Urios’ partners. So, if you find yourself having any questions or remarks whatsoever, do not hesitate to contact me through email@example.com.
This year, Urios will be celebrating its Lustrum! Therefore, in the academic year of 2020-2021 our events will be even more interesting, even bigger, and even better than you already are used to when it comes to Urios. Make sure to stay tuned for more!
My name is Anouk Hak and it is my pleasure and honor to fulfill the role of Secretary this year. I am 20 years old and I am currently in my third year of my Bachelor of Laws at Utrecht University. With extensive pride and great enthousiasm it is my honor to fulfill the position of the 40th Treasurer at Urios. It is the treasurer’s responsibility to provide for the finances of an association like providing for a family, something I will be doing with utmost caress. My tasks include keeping track of Urios’ financial flows, administration, the accounting, setting up budgets and financially enabling some of our most glorious events: such as symposia, activities, MUN and our Career Event.Read more..
Furthermore, organizing the Career Event will fall under my belt this coming year. Our Career Event is an amazing opportunity to bridge the gap between student life an the working world. It is therefore that I am looking forward to this event in the boradest sense of the words. Not only will the event be extremely educational, but it will also be a great day to get to know various people from different aspects of our society and have some laughs.
As to who I am as a person: I just finished my bachelor’s degree at Utrecht University and am doing a couple of internships at two specialized intellectual property firms this semester. Next semester the spotlight will be taken by a couple of courses concerning IP and perhaps another internship. The true fun will begin next year, where I will be following the Master’s program ‘Intellectual Property Law, Innovation and Technology’, something I cannot wait to start my career in.
Feel free to contact me through email@example.com concerning any questions, ideas or applications for the Career Event. Let’s get to know each other!
Hello, I am Ruben Loevendie, and this year I will be organizing our biggest and smallest events as the Activities Commissioner of the 40th Board of Urios. I am 21 years old, am a fourth year law student and have a particular interest in European and international law.
My goals this year are to make our international members feel at home here in Utrecht by hosting activities that will allow them to get acquainted with the city and meet both local as well as other international students. Furthermore, I hope to provide all of our members with ample opportunities to get in contact with professionals in the field of international law during our formal activities, such as visits to the law firms which we are partnered with and at various moments during our annnual international and intercontinental study trips.Read more..
In these trying times, the hosting of both physical and digital activities is paramount to keeping our members engaged with the more tangible aspects of the subject matter they study every day, and having them get in contact with other likeminded students. To accomplish these goals, my primary task this year will be to assemble and chair the Activities Committee. With the help of this knowledgeable and motivated group of individuals, we will endeavour to facilitate as many qualitatively worthwhile events as we are able to, given all the current restrictions.
If you have any questions pertaining to one of our upcoming events this year, don’t hesitate to contact me and the rest of the Activities Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello everyone! I am Louisa Handel-Mazzetti, 17 years old and in my second year of History and International Relations at Utrecht University. One might think: what is she doing in an association for law? Well, over the last few years I have become extremely interested in the United Nations. I have done a lot of debate-, speech and MUN competitions that have fed this interest even more. During the research process, you obviously stumble across international law and I found this extremely interesting. For this reason, I will be following extra law courses to deepen my knowledge in this field and of course hope to learn from my fellow students within Urios.Read more..
MUN has always been a passion of mine. I have organized a few, both online and ‘in real life’. I’ve always sought to reach an as large number of people as possible in order to create a very diverse experience. I love to learn from people from different countries and hope to meet as much internationals this year as well!
You are very welcome to join us at our own URUMUN, during our many MUN trips or in the MUN committee. I would love to see as many people from different environments come together and have some flourishing debates about anything and everything. See you soon!
Hi! My name is Natalie Wiesner and I am proud and honoured to fulfil the position of Symposium Commissioner of the 40th board of Urios.
I am 21 years old and currently in my fourth year of the Bachelor of Law. The past semester, I was on exchange at the University of Geneva, of course the physical aspect got interrupted but luckily I was able to complete my courses on transnational law. I am very interested in public international law and diplomacy, possibly because I was brought up in a multilingual home. What really intrigues me in the field of international law, is human rights law and humanitarian law. A year working on the board of the study association for international and European law matches this perfectly.Read more..
But everything to do with family law, juvenile crime and the protection of children also interests me a lot. And as such, I will be following courses for a Minor in juvenile crime and I plan on doing an internship in the second semester. I am not all done with studying and I feel grateful to get the chance to fill my year to the brink with extra courses and activities, such as a board year.
As I already have experience in coordinating lectures, the position of Symposium Commissioner really spoke to me. I am very much looking forward to being part of the Urios board and to getting to know our members better, and of course to organizing various lectures and symposia. With lots of ideas in mind and a lot of motivation to get them executed, I know this will be a very interesting year. And together with the board we will do all that we can to deliver activities and events of the best quality for our members, especially in these challenging circumstances.
If you are interested to know more about Urios or if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com. I hope to see you at our lectures!
